Webnet will take a website url, or some html snipet code, and it will display the content. The great thing about this is that there are tons of web widgets providers out there widgetbox, Google Gadgets, Netvibes to name only three of them. And you can now use most of these web widgets/gadgets directly into myBoard !

Let’s take this BBC widget from Netvibes for instance.

Copy the HTML code into the clipboard and paste it into Webnet.

Hit the “Save”, and you now have a cool BBC magnet

You could do the same for flash games available on sites like http://www.miniclip.com , or http://www.freegames4all.net/

Unfortunately, not all web widgets will work with this first version, I’ll do my best to figure this out and improve this magnet in future releases. In the meantime, grab it in myBoard’s Magnet Store, and start enjoying all these web widgets directly in myBoard

Note : Make sure you have the latest version of myBoard before using Webnet.

I took some time to work on my twitter client Synapse, previously known as Twister, and I managed to add a couple of nice features. First, you can now see who is following you, and who you are following as well. Actually, you can have access to these informations for any Twitter user.

I took some time to work on my twitter client Synapse, previously known as Twister, and I managed to add a couple of nice features.
First, you can now see who is following you, and who you are following as well. Actually, you can have access to these informations for any Twitter user.

Here I can see how many followers Patrick has and how many people he is actally following. I can click on any of these numbers to have more informations. For instance, if I click on “111″ (which is the number of people he is following), Sinapse will display these people as a list of photos :

I can then click on one of these person to see his/her profile …

And I can keep doing this deeper and deeper.

If at any moment you want to come back on a previous screen, just click on the “screen name” in the breadcrumb bar on top :

The other cool feature is the ability to translate a tweet directly from Sinapse. Basically Sinapse will detect your operating system language and use the Google Translate API to translate tweets for you.

Let’s take this tweet for instance :

Well, if I click on the “translate” button, Sinapse will automatically translate this in my Operating System language (which is french) :

PS : If you had the previous version of Sinapse (Twister) installed, I would strongly recommand you to remove it, before you download this new version from the store.

This week I’ve decided to work on a many times requested feature on myBoard : the ability to delete a magnet, and it is now possible with myBoard Beta 1.3 !
Here is how it works, just move your mouse over the magnet you want to delete, and you will see a “remove” button appear :

Just click and this button, and the magnet is gone for good ! You can always go back into the store to download the magnet again.

Speaking of the store, I’ve also released the first version of the imeem magnet I was talking about in this post. Here is how it looks :

Capture is a very handy magnets which lets you take screenshots of any portion of your screen. You can tell Capture to save the screenshot on your desktop, copy it into the clipboard, or publish it directly on the web through Image Shack service.

How does it work ?

Capture is a very handy magnets which lets you take screenshots of any portion of your screen. You can tell Capture to save the screenshot on your desktop, copy it into the clipboard, or publish it directly on the web through Image Shack service.

How does it work ?

Well as you can see, Capture has 3 buttons :

The first one brings the user back to his desktop so he can select an area of the screen he wants to transform into transform into an image.

When the user releases the mouse left button, an image of the area he selected previously is automatically generated on his desktop.

The second button does the same thing except it doesn’t create an image file on your desktop, but in your clipboard instead. You can then paste the image directly in any application (Microsoft Paint, Photoshop, Word, ect…)

Finally, the third button once again uses the same mecanism, but the image is automatically uploaded on Image Shack, and Capture will give you the url of the uploaded image so you can share it with your friends on Twitter for instance.

As you can see here, the image was successfully uploaded on Image Shack.

Just like all other magnets, you can grab Capture in the Magnet Store !

This is a magnet our friend Michael designed for myBoard, I had a few hours to spare today so I brought life to it, it’s now available on the Magnet Store.

So if you need to keep a close eye on the current time in any city, this is the magnet you need, enjoy !

Ok so for all developpers out there, here is the latest SDK for myBoard. I hope you will find in there all required information to create nice magnets for myBoard

The magnet store is an integrated mechanism in myBoard allowing you to download new magnets in a very simple way. First you need to open the store using the “Magnet store” button. Then you need to create an account to log in the store, click on [...]]]> It took me some times to make this release but it’s now available. This release is huge because I finally managed to add a feature I wanted to add from the very beginning: The magnet store !

The magnet store is an integrated mechanism in myBoard allowing you to download new magnets in a very simple way.
First you need to open the store using the “Magnet store” button.

Then you need to create an account to log in the store, click on the “Register” banner to do so.

Fill all required fields (Only login and password are required) then hit “Ok”.

You should then receive an email with a link allowing you to activate your account. Once it’s done, you can go back and log in the store. A screen similar to this one should appear.

From here you will have access to latetest magnets and will also be able to browse available magnets by category.

Finally, If you are a developer, you can also submit your magnets using the “Submit a magnet” tab. I will soon release an updated SDK to help you guys create magnets, but you can also download magnets source code on codeplex to see how it’s done.

Also, Michael Mohlman, took some time to design a cool iTunes remote for myBoard, so check it out on the Store and once again thanks a lot Michael ! Note that you NEED iTunes 9 to be installed on your computer to make this magnet work properly.

You will most definitely experience bugs with this new release (even if I tried to fix as many as possible bugs reported on previous version) so if you want to get rid of them, just leave on the message board a post explaining the issue and how to reproduce it.

But hey, you never know what’s [...]]]> Ok, so there is something funny going on here in the EU regarding Windows 7. A couple of companies specialized in web browsing (Opera, Mozilla)are complaining about IE being part of Windows which from their point of view falls under the antitrust law. Obviously, they want their browsers to be shipped with Windows 7 so the user can choose which browser (s)he wants to use. I think this is just silly for many reasons …

But hey, you never know what’s going to happen, so I’ve decided to create my own browser so I can join the party. I called it Iwannabeinwindows2, and it is simply my master piece ! Now I hoppe I’ll make it to Windows 7 and make tons of money with it
